Pass in the Senior Secondary (+2) Examination (Academic Stream) conducted by the H.P Board of School Education (or in case of Shashtri, pass in Prak Shashtri from Sanskrit Colleges affiliated to the HPU) or an examination accepted as equivalent to Or at par by the various bodies of the H.P. University.
- An applicant, who has passed the qualifying examination with science stream, shall be given preference in admission to B.Sc. Programme. An applicant who has passed the qualifying examination with commerce stream shall be given preference in admission to B. Com. Programme.
- An applicant must not be more than 23 years of age (25 years for girl students only) as on 01-08-2021 i.e. must not have been born earlier to 01.08.1998 (01.08.1996 for girls). The upper age limit has been raised to 29 years for S.C. and S.T. applicants. However, in case of overage applicants, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, H.P. University may allow a relaxation up to six months.
- Only those applicants who have passed 10+2 examination with English as one of the compulsory subjects from any Indian University/Board recognized by law can seek admission.
- Admission of a student will be liable to cancelled in case he/she furnishes incomplete/ wrong/ false information or in case of concealment of facts. Disciplinary action will also be taken against such a candidate.
- Initially all admissions shall be provisional and subject to the final approval by H.P. University.
- Rules of admission are subject to change as per the Himachal Pradesh University notifications issued from time to time.
Rules of Refusal for Admission
- The Admission will be on the basis of merit, as the seats are limited in all faculties.
- An applicant, who is placed in compartment in 10+2, will not be eligible for admission in first year.
- The reservation of seats will be according to the University “120 points” roaster.
- Applicants who have passed intermediate from Hindi Sahitya Samelan, Allahabad or Prabhakar are not eligible for admission.
- Any candidate who has not appeared in/passed English as a subject at 10+2 level shall not be eligible for admission in First year.
- An applicant, qualifying 10+2 from NIOS are eligible for admission in B.A./B.Com. first semester only when, he/she has taken English as a subject and passed all the subjects in 10+2 .
- Inspite of the eligibility for admission, the Principal can refuse admission if the conduct of the student has not been up to the mark during previous years.
- A student expelled by any college/university or found involved in any indisciplinary activities in the preceding years, will not be eligible for admission.
- Note:-The Principal reserves the right to disallow or cancel any admission as per rules.
- Admission will be strictly on fulfillment of eligibility conditions and on recommendation of admission committee.
- Every candidate seeking admission has to apply on the prescribed form available in college prospectus.
- The application form is to be filled up neatly by the applicant in his/her own handwriting carefully after reading all rules.
- Relevant certificates must be attached in a proper sequence with the admission form.
- After getting the form verified and approved from the members of the admission committee, the applicant will go to the convener of the said committee.
- Students should pay their fees and funds on the prescribed counter. After paying the fee, they should keep the receipt of fees carefully for future reference.
Documents Required
The completed admission form must be submitted with the following documents:
- Two passport size photographs of the applicant and two passport size photographs of his/her, father/mother/guardian(as the case may be).
- All certificates from Matriculation examination onward must be carried in original along with their photocopies.
- P. domicile bonafide certificate is required for girl students only.
- 40% disability certificate and category certificate in case of students seeking any sort of age relaxation.
- Photocopy of registration card for students seeking admission to 2nd Year& 3rd
- Original character certificate from the institution last attended. In case of a student who has discontinued his/her study for one or more than one year, he/she should also get character certificate issued from village pradhan or any gazetted class-I officer in addition to aforesaid character certificate.
Note: - The Character certificate, should not have been issued for more than six months, prior to the date of admission.
- A student coming from Board/University, other than H.P., will have to produce his/her Migration Certificate at the time of admission.
